A list of [[Cards Rules#Custom Cards|Custom Cards]] commonly used and have pre-decided abilities.

* Double-backed Card | Functions identically to the double-back card in the deck
* Birthday Card | Given to an opponent. Every other player gives the recipient one card from their hand
* Bus/Transit Card | Can be used to move any effect to any other player / Can be used to move to a different location around the playing area, changing turn order
* Driver's/Learner's Permit | Can be used to "Run over" any effect, moving it to the discard pile
* Suicide Hotline Card | Allows the user to "Kill themselves," discarding any effect against them
* Insurance Card | Given to another player along with another card from your hand. That player is now your insurer. They receive any draw effects meant to go to you, so long as you give them enough "good" cards to keep your insurance
* Math Flash Card | Used to attack another player. They must correctly answer the flash card, or else Draw 4. Counts towards total Math count

Cards's initial setup is near-identical to Uno. Seven cards are distributed to each player, then the remaining deck is placed somewhere within reach of all players. About Cards

Cards is a card shedding game [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shedding-type_games] initially jointly created by "Neofeils" and "Mathpotatoes". The name was deliberately chosen to be confusing and non-answer sounding to the question "What are you playing?". Cards was originally Crazy Eights, but with added rules as it became "boring." This let to heavy inspiration from the game Mao, [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mao_(card_game)] adding penalties and the concept of creating new rules on the spot. Cards's rules slowly then became what they are today over the course of two years, (as of May 2026) after the introduction of Cards to the creators' friend group.
